Emotional news for Star Trek fans as Leonard Nimoy, Mr Spock himself has decided not to attend anymore fan conventions and enter retirement. Nimoy, one of the most popular actors from the whole Star Trek universe has decided at the age of 80 to take life easier.

His parting words at his last convention, "Live long and prosper" rang out over a crowd who were celebrating the 45th anniversary of the broadcast of the first episode in Chicago.

Although this may be the last time Nimoy shares his love of the show directly to fans, I think we can safely assume he'll still pop up every now and again whether it be on screen, on stage or even only in voice keeping everyone's favourite half human half Vulcan very much alive.
